ENGLISH Japan Federation of Economic Organizations (Nippon Keidanren) An organization consisting of nearly 1500 Japanese big businesses. Know for being one of the most, if not the most, influential special interest group with the LDP. National Agricultural Federation (Zennoh) An organization that contains most of Japan's nearly 5 million farming housholds. Has heavy influence with the LDP and has probably played an instrumental role in developing Japan’s trade policies. The Power of Soka Gakkai This 1995 Time Magazine article explains how the religion known as Soka Gakkai (an offshoot of Nichiren Buddhism) came to hold so much political power in Japan. Very relevant today, as Soka Gakkai’s political party, Komeito, is now part of a ruling coalition with the LDP. The Association of Shinto Shrines (Jinja Honcho) This is an organization of over 80,000 Shinto Shrines throughout Japan. They promote a link between Shinto and government and support other Shinto groups such as the Shinto-Government Association.

Issuikai This is probably the most popular and main-stream of Japan’s present-day right-wing organizations. They are affiliated with a number of nationalistic authors.
